In December 2013, the Rancho Palos Verdes City Council adopted an Ordinance amending Municipal Code Section 8.20.250 to change the times trash containers are allowed to be placed at the curb for trash pick-up.
On January 3, 2014 the new rules prohibit trash, recycling, and green waste carts to be placed at the curb for collection earlier than 4 p.m. on the day before the scheduled collection and require that the empty carts be removed from the curb no later than 10 p.m. on the day of collection.
Trash carts are required to be stored so that they are substantially screened from view from the public right-of-way (street and sidewalk).
Please help the city spread the word by informing your neighbors of these new regulations. To assist you in that regard, you may print a Dear Neighbor Notice (PDF) to give to your neighbor or affix it to their trash carts while at the curb.
