Eric is in his second term for the City Council in Rancho Palos Verdes and served as the Mayor in 2021 and Mayor Pro Tem in 2020. He is currently the delegate for the South Bay Council of Governments for the South Bay Chambers of Commerce and the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission and serves on the Peninsula Public Safety Committee. Prior to election, he volunteered for local governments as a member of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes' Finance Advisory Committee and as the Chair of the City of El Segundo's Environmental Committee. Eric has also previously served as a State Commissioner as appointed by the Speaker of the Assembly for the California Film Commission, California Prison Industry Board, and the Occupational Therapy Board.
Professionally, he is the President of Vision to Learn, a national non-profit organization dedicated to lobbying for healthcare access and providing eye care to children in low-income communities. He has several years of executive leadership experience having previously worked for Providence Health & Services, Optum, and DaVita Medical Group/Healthcare Partners. Prior to his work in healthcare, he worked for the cities of Los Angeles, Irvine and La Canada Flintridge and was the director of a non-profit program that worked with Latino farmworkers in Washington State. He is currently an Adjunct Instructor of Public Administration at the University of Southern California and previously served in the same role at El Camino College. Additionally, he owns two small businesses.
Eric is currently a PhD Candidate in Public Policy at Claremont Graduate University and holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, a master’s in Pastoral Theology from Loyola Marymount University and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Gonzaga University.
Eric and his wife Christine are the proud parents of two daughters and two sons.
