Ring Security Device Subsidy Program
Kickoff Event: Final Round Opportunity for RPV Residents
Saturday, February 22, 2020
12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Fred Hesse, Jr. Community Park
In a continued effort to enhance neighborhood safety, the City has partnered with Ring to offer a fourth and final opportunity for Rancho Palos Verdes residents to purchase select Ring security devices at a $100 discount. Residents will have the opportunity to meet Ring staff, see the devices, and ask questions at a kickoff event on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at the Fred Hesse, Jr. Community Park Building.
This incentive program is only available to Rancho Palos Verdes residents, and who have not participated in the program before. If you would like to participate, please contact Administrative Analyst Shane Lee at slee@rpvca.gov to receive a Resident General Release Agreement (this form will also be available at the registration table at the event).
To receive a discount code, submit a completed agreement form in person at the kickoff event, via email to slee@rpvca.gov, in person at City Hall, or by mail to Shane Lee, 30940 Hawthorne Blvd, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Residents must provide proof of residency with their completed agreement forms (valid driver license or utility bill along with photo identification.) Proof of residency can be provided to City staff in person or as scanned copies/photos if sent via email or mail.
The incentive program will be offered from February 22 through April 6, 2020 on a first-come, first-served basis, so purchase your devices before the allotted number of discounts run out!
The select Ring devices and their pricing are as follows:
Peephole Cam - $99 (retail price of $199)

Download the free Ring app to use with your device at the App Store or Google Play by using the link http://m.onelink.me/fe77b5ca. You do not need a Ring device to use the Ring Neighbors app! Ring Neighbors allows you to stay virtually connected to your neighbors and share public safety information in real-time.
The City highly recommends purchasing a Ring Protect Plan with your security device and downloading the free Ring Neighbors app. Each security device purchase includes free basic functions, such as a two-way talk, lifetime theft protection, real-time video feeds, and motion-activated notifications. Ring Protect Plans additionally offer video saving, sharing, video history and the ability to take screenshot captures – all which can help deter theft and have the potential to assist law enforcement in the event of a burglary or other illegal activity.
For additional information regarding Ring security devices, visit www.Ring.com. If you have questions about the program or how to participate, please contact Administrative Analyst Shane Lee at slee@rpvca.gov.
If you are a person with a disability and you need a disability related accommodation to participate in the program or event, please contact Risk Manager, jdeziel@rpvca.gov, 30940 Hawthorne Blvd., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275, at least 48 hours in advance at 310-544-5331.
