On August 15, the City Council will receive an update on the proposed Portuguese Bend Landslide Remediation Project, a public works project that aims to significantly slow the continuously moving landslide.
The Council will consider whether to proceed with final engineering plans while determining if modifications can be made to the project design based on public feedback on the project's Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR). If the Council takes this approach and the project design is revised, a Final EIR could be released in mid-2024.
In a separate agenda item (PDF), the Council will also consider using additional technologies to better monitor land movement in the City’s greater landslide complex.
The hybrid in-person/virtual meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in McTaggart Hall at Hesse Park and via Zoom. Watch live on the City website or on RPVtv Cox 33/Frontier FiOS 38.
A staff report (PDF) for the project update is available on the City website. Share your questions and comments with the City Council before the meeting by emailing them to cc@rpvca.gov. If you would like to speak during the meeting or leave a pre-recorded voice message, please complete a form at rpvca.gov/participate.
