Though the IRS scam has been going on for quite a while now, the calls are coming at a frenzied pace due to tax season being right around the corner.
Remember, the IRS and law enforcement will not call you demanding payment over the phone, or demanding that you provide us with any kind of money wire transfer or gift cards to pay off back taxes. These scammers are deplorable criminals who often fake telephone numbers and send their illicit gains overseas. They also take advantage of our seniors at a disproportionate rate. Please remind your family and friends that this scam is going on.
