Arm yourself with scientific information and learn to live more safely with hazards such as earthquakes, tsunamis, storms and flooding. Turn fear of the unknown into appreciation of Earth’s natural forces. Turn knowledge into empowerment and motivation to address our vulnerabilities.

Dr. Erin Burkett of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) will provide the context and impacts of natural hazards, highlighting risks specific to Southern California. Learn about modern technologies used in studying, monitoring, and warning. Share resources available to stay informed of the latest hazards science. Dr. Burkett will be speaking at 7:00 PM at the Harlyne J. Norris Pavilion, located at 501 Indian Peak Rd. in Rolling Hills Estates.
