Between May 30th and June 1st, soil investigations were conducted at the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District’s Ladera Linda (AKA Portuguese Bend) Fields, and the results of these investigations are now being analyzed. In the meantime, the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) will hold a public meeting to hear the community’s concerns about the Ladera Linda Fields, and to provide an opportunity to discuss the status of DTSC’s Preliminary Endangerment Assessment (PEA) soil investigation and clean-up processes. The meeting will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 19th in McTaggart Hall at Hesse Park, located at 29301 Hawthorne Blvd., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
