Rancho Palos Verdes City Manager Ara Mihranian shares the following message with Rancho Palos Verdes residents:
The health and well-being of our residents and visitors is a top priority. I understand the concern and uncertainty you may be experiencing surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and am committed to sharing information about the City's response to the COVID-19 situation as it evolves.
Staff are closely monitoring the developing public health situation as it relates to COVID-19 and are working closely with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health staff and our local Disaster Management Area Coordinator. Additionally, we are participating in regular tele-briefings with local, County and State Public Health officials.
We all can take some common sense steps to help prevent the spread of any virus by following these precautionary measures:
? Please stay home when ill.
? Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or longer; use alcohol-based hand sanitizer products with at least 60 percent alcohol
? Cover coughs and sneezes with tissue and dispose of tissue into a trash container, or consider coughing and sneezing inside of your elbow
? Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth;
? Wipe surfaces frequently with disinfectant wipes or other suitable cleaning products;
? Consider “social distancing” – when speaking to another person, have 6 feet of distance; consider phone calls or web-based meetings rather than in-person meetings.
? Carefully consider plans to travel to areas with heightened levels of exposure.
As with any potential threat, like earthquakes or wildfires, it is important to stay calm, read information from trusted sources like Centers for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC) and the Los Angeles County Public Health Department, and take precautionary measures to prepare yourself and your family.

As you are aware, this is a fluid situation and is changing by the hour. As such, things may change and I will make every effort to keep you informed of any updated circumstances for the City and its facilities and operations.
