City Council Meeting Highlights

Last night, February 1, the City Council approved a list of events for a year-long celebration of RPV’s 50^th anniversary in 2023, which will kick off this September.

The City Council also heard a presentation from Caltrans on the agency’s plans to add bike lanes along Western Avenue from San Pedro to Torrance, including RPV. The Council directed City staff to work with Caltrans to study the combined traffic impacts of the proposed bike lanes, the Ponte Vista development, which is under construction, and potential mixed-use development that is being explored as part of RPV’s Housing Element Update. The City has no jurisdiction over the bike lane project, but can provide feedback and voice concerns to Caltrans.

The City Council also heard a report on a wide range of services provided to the City by the County of Los Angeles and directed staff to share this information on the City website so residents can find it all in one place.
