This Week’s National Preparedness Month Tip: Make a Plan
In a disaster, first responders will do everything possible to save and protect lives, property and the environment. However, large disasters may completely overwhelm law enforcement and fire personnel as they will be responding to multiple incidents with competing public safety needs.
There are steps you can take to help ensure you, your family and loved ones are resilient and ready for a disaster. The first step is to make plans with your family, friends and neighborhood to stay safe, connected and help others.
Be sure to familiarize yourself with the county’s Ready! Set! Go! program that provides important pre-planning and evacuation information. To download the Ready! Set! Go! Wildfire Action Plan and view informational how-to videos, visit: fire.lacounty.gov/rsg
And sign up for the upcoming free Palos Verdes Peninsula Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training series that starts October 14 to learn basic training in safety and lifesaving skills for the public. Reserve your seat at: tinyurl.com/PVPCERT
