Recent crime data for Rancho Palos Verdes unveils a promising trend that underscores the concerted efforts towards community safety. Over the years, the city has witnessed a notable decrease in both property and violent crimes, reflecting a positive shift in its security landscape.
Analyzing the statistics from 1985 to 2023, the data reveals a consistent decline in total Part I crimes. In 1985, the total stood at 751 incidents, gradually dropping to 365 by 2023. This 5-year running average depicted in the dashed blue line is a remarkable downward trajectory, showcasing a vigilant community's commitment to curbing criminal activities.
Delving deeper into the numbers, property crimes have significantly decreased over the years, from 674 incidents in 1985 to 326 in 2023. Likewise, violent crimes have also shown a steady decline, with 77 incidents in 1985 compared to 39 in 2023.
