August 8, 2018 Visioning Open House
Ninety-three people, almost entirely City residents, participated in a Civic Center visioning open house facilitated by CCAC members, representatives from M. Arthur Gensler Jr. & Associates, Inc., and City Staff. Attendees learned about the project’s history, physical dimensions and constraints, results from the 2017 survey, and potential components. Attendees were able to share their preferences and give input about the overall project as well as individual components using stickers and post-it notes.
Below are individual component results from the workshop. Results paralleled the 2017 survey results with passive elements such as trailheads, village green, and shade structures scoring highest. There was strong support for public safety components (Sheriff sub-station-no jail, fire station), a new City Hall, and a community center.
