The Rancho Palos Verdes business license ordinance is non-regulatory and has been enacted solely to raise revenue for municipal purposes.

Business License Renewal Processing Update

 We are currently experiencing intermittent system issues that are affecting the processing of business license renewals. Our team is actively working with our system vendor to address the problem as quickly as possible.

 Renewals are being processed in the order received as the system allows. If you have an urgent or time-sensitive request, please contact the Finance Department at (310) 544-5304 so we can assist as best we can.

 In addition, please note that the BUSINESS LICENSE RENEWAL DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31.

For home-based businesses, verify that you have read and understood the City of Rancho Palos Verdes Home Occupancy Standards (PDF).

Online Business License Application & Payment

eTRAKiT PORTAL: The City's eTRAKiT Licensing Portal is currently open for 2026 NEW LICENSES. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CLICK ON THE RENEW BUTTON on the DASHBOARD under "My Active Licenses" (Not the assessed fee) to submit for a renewal. To help troubleshoot, please refer to this renewal step-by-step guide for further assistance. This online portal provides the ability to apply and pay for selected RPV Permits and Business License. Additional instructions on how to access and apply for a new business licenses are available here. The eTRAKiT renewal portal can only accept payment by credit card. For check or cash payments please refer to the other options below.
