Marymount California University requests a Special Use Permit to allow a series of outdoor special events with amplified sound, held during the 2015 to 2016 academic year. A total of 22 specific dates and times are proposed, as well as 2 additional dates that will be determined at a later date.
A Request to Amend Special Use Permit - ZON2015-00333
On April 6, 2016, Marymount filled a request with the Planning Division to amend Condition Number 14 of its Special Use Permit (ZON2015-00333) to allow the use of pneumatic devices for the installation of the graduation tent (see attachment). In summary, Marymount claims that the tent vendor cannot, with confidence, secure the graduation tent using the existing capped holes and handheld hammers. The Planning Division will begin processing Marymount's request by initiating the 15-day public notice period. During this time, Staff will review Marymount's request (including meeting with the tent vendor) and the submitted public comments before rendering a decision. The Director's decision may then be appealed to the Planning Commission. Graduation this year is scheduled for May 7th.
