City Hall will be closed for winter holiday break from December 24, 2025 - January 4, 2026, and will reopen on January 5. Emergencies should be reported by calling 9-1-1.
Building and Safety will provide limited building inspections on December 29 and 30. Inspection requests may be called in to 310-544-5279 or submitted electronically on the City website.
Construction is prohibited on December 25 (Christmas Day) and January 1 (New Year's Day) unless a Special Construction Permit is approved by the Director of Community Development. Special Construction Permits must be requested at least 48 hours before any such work is to begin, and requests for January 1 must be submitted by December 22 due to the City Hall winter holiday break closure. There will be no trash collection on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and a one-day delay for the Thursday and Friday routes. There will be no street sweeping on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Instead, street sweeping for these days will be performed on December 24 and December 31, respectively.
Parks (except for Abalone Cove Park and all park buildings) will be open on Christmas Day and New Year's Day for their regular hours.
