REACH, a program administered by the City of Rancho Palos Verdes' Recreation and Parks Department, is designed to serve the social and recreational needs of youth and young adults with developmental disabilities in Palos Verdes and the South Bay.
Program Activities
REACH offers over 100 challenging and diverse activities each year, designed to promote:
- Community access and assimilation
- Independent living
- Physical fitness
- Social interactivity
REACH activities are generally held on Monday and Wednesday evenings and weekends to accommodate school and work schedules. REACH also offers:
- Art and music therapy
- Camps
- Dances
- Special events
REACH staff is motivated, creative and friendly. The participant to staff ratio is 7 to 1. REACH members must be non-violent, ambulatory and have sufficient hygiene skills.
The REACH Program is Back!
The REACH program started in February 2021 in a virtual capacity, and is now combined with also in-person activities. Participants can enjoy Virtual Game Night Mondays, Social Hour (craft nights, movie nights, cooking nights, parties and more) at Hesse Park on Wednesdays, and field trips on Saturdays!
